Manny Carabel is a New Jersey–based photographer and veteran visual storyteller with more than a decade of experience as a Contributing Photographer for Getty Images in NYC. Since 2012, his work has focused on capturing authentic, unscripted moments across sports, news, and live events, bringing a sharp eye and investigative instinct to every frame.
He is the owner of MTC Photography LLC, founded in 2008, specializing in weddings, engagements, sports, special events, and children’s portraits. Manny is known for his ability to connect with people quickly while remaining attentive to detail—balancing emotional storytelling with technical precision.
Manny is also the co-creator of All In Focus: The Creators Podcast, where he explores the creative process with photographers, filmmakers, and artists, offering behind-the-scenes insight into storytelling, craft, and the realities of building a creative career. A committed mental health advocate, Manny believes strongly in the power of peer-to-peer support and open conversations, particularly within high-stress professions and creative communities. This perspective informs both his work and his approach to collaboration, emphasizing empathy, trust, and human connection. His professional foundation is supported by formal training in both photography and business. Manny earned a Professional Photography Certificate from the New York Institute of Photography (2009–2010), completed Law Enforcement training at the Monmouth County Police Academy (1993), and studied Business at Brookdale Community College (1986–1988). In addition to his photography career, Manny has served for over three decades as a Detective with the Aberdeen Township Police Department, with investigative experience spanning white-collar crime, computer and forensic investigations, property crimes, suspicious deaths, and missing persons cases. Manny is a United States Navy veteran, having served aboard the USS Nitro (AE-23) from 1987 to 1991 as a Signalman and Rescue Swimmer. His service includes multiple Mediterranean deployments, assignments at Guantanamo Bay, and participation in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, with responsibilities that included firefighting, special weapons security, and rescue operations during underway replenishments. Whether documenting a major sporting event, a wedding day, or a quiet portrait, Manny brings experience, integrity, and compassion to every image he creates.
